Care & warranty
TAKE CARE OF YOUR JEWELS
Gold naturally develops small scratches and signs of wear over time. We think this is part of the beauty of a piece that is truly worn and loved.
To keep your jewellery in its best condition, we recommend removing it before:
-
exercising or heavy physical activity
-
gardening, cleaning or manual work
-
swimming or using a sauna
-
handling strong chemicals or cleaning products
-
any activity where your jewellery could receive a hard knock or pressure
Diamonds are extremely hard, but they are not indestructible. Gemstones can also vary greatly in hardness and sensitivity. A strong impact can damage a stone or, more commonly, bend or loosen the setting holding it in place.
KEEP YOUR STONES SAFE
The tiny prongs and settings holding your diamonds and gemstones can naturally wear over time.
For jewellery worn every day — especially engagement rings — we recommend having the setting checked approximately once a year.
If you notice that a stone moves, hear a small rattling sound, see a bent or lifted prong, or your ring has received a significant impact, stop wearing it and bring it to us for inspection.
Catching a loose setting early can prevent losing a stone.
CLEANING
For everyday cleaning, gently soak your jewellery in lukewarm water with a little mild soap and clean it carefully with a very soft toothbrush.
Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Read our blog on how to clean your jewelry.
Not every gemstone can be cleaned in the same way, so when in doubt, bring your piece to us and we'll be happy to advise you.
YEARLY CHECK-UP
Your jewellery deserves a little check-up every now and then.
You're always welcome to bring your Lauren D’Anvers jewellery to the atelier so we can inspect the stones, prongs and settings and advise you if any maintenance is needed.
We particularly recommend this for engagement rings and other pieces worn every day.
WARRANTY
All Lauren D’Anvers jewellery is made with great care and craftsmanship.
Your purchase is covered by the statutory legal guarantee applicable under Belgian law. If you believe there is a manufacturing defect or another issue with your jewellery, please contact us so we can inspect the piece and find the appropriate solution.
Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, impact damage, deformation, improper use and damage caused by repairs or alterations performed by third parties are not considered manufacturing defects.
Your statutory consumer rights always remain applicable.
WHAT IF A DIAMOND OR GEMSTONE IS LOST?
Please contact us as soon as possible and stop wearing the jewellery if other stones or settings may also have been affected.
The loss of a stone does not necessarily mean that the jewellery was defective. Likewise, we won't automatically assume that the jewellery was damaged by you.
We will first carefully inspect the piece and, where possible, determine what may have caused the stone to come loose.
If the loss is related to a defect for which Studio Lauren D’Anvers is legally responsible, your statutory warranty rights apply.
If the stone was lost following accidental damage, impact, deformation or normal wear, we can repair the setting and help you find a suitable replacement stone. We will always discuss any costs with you before proceeding.
NEED SOME LOVE?
Not sure whether your ring needs a check-up, cleaning or repair? Just bring it by the atelier — we'd much rather check a setting before a stone gets lost.
